Thanks for the opportunity to submit this question. Are there updated case studies/vignettes available that incorporate the DSM 5 criteria? Current studies refer to DMV-IV, TR criteria, multi-axial assessment, and are not good examples as they are dated.

Thanks for your question and astute observations. Though the updated case studies were done shortly after the release of the 2013 DSM-5 we did not really update them to reflect that edition as we continued to believe that the changes made in the DSM-5 were somewhat less than what was hoped for and still believe that the 5 axis diagnosis process with separation of egodystonic (Axis I) from egosyntonic (Axis II) was clinically useful. We had also believed that the case studies were useful in generating good clinical discussions that therapist, clinicians and educators could use to present their own (and updated) expertise to.

However, I feel you are correct and we should look at those case studies and update them to what is in the DSM-5 though many have now chosen to move to the 2019 ICD-10 CM as a preferred assessment tool and we may choose to go that route as well.
