Christy in Carolina asks about “ear wax weed”

Hi Christy

Yes, I have heard of “ear wax weed” and a large number of similar marijuana extraction products that are now flooding YouTube with extraction processing recopies. I am most familiar with Butane Hash Oil (BHO) which first uses alcohol to extract cannabinoids from high grade pot ground up in a blender that is then mixed with liquid butane and boiled off over a pan of boiled water to form a peanut brittle looking product containing over 90% cannabinoid. Ear Wax Weed is usually extracted with alcohol and; as the name suggests, it results in a product that looks like ear wax. Other product names are “cannabis oil, honey oil, shatter, wax, bubble hash, and many more street names. Usually:

Butane extraction products are called Butane Hash Oil (BHO) and the extraction process is known as “Dabbing”
Alcohol Extraction products are called Ear Wax Weed or Wax (usually 1.5 gal reagent grade ethanol/1 lb of ground up high quality buds in a blender is used to make Wax)
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) via dry ice extraction products iscalled ‘honey oil’
Cold water (ice) extraction products are called “Bubble Hash”
Lots of YouTube demonstration videos on making these products.

These new extraction products are 70 to 95% cannabinoid. PureGold a commercial “honey oil” “medical marijuana product made in California is said to be 95% cannabinoid with 75% delta nine THC.

Needless to say that these new extraction products are much more potent than past hash oil products that usually reached about 40% and reports are linking them to more psychological as well as physical toxicities.

Hope this information is useful to you.
