Designer drugs – marketed as “bath Salts” –  are a continuing new health  as well as abuse and addiction problem. The latest is a chemical version of the African herb Khat. Mephedrone and MDPF are some of the names for this speed-like substance showing up in head shops, and increasingly in hospital emergency rooms. The DEA has been slow to act in categorizing these, and several states have banned several of the various version, though there are a few dozen, with more appearing regularly. So also look at an interesting study of survival rates on the Titanic and Luthatania sinkings, and how it relates to craving and relapse.
